David and John attended the Geo-energy Symposium at the Heriot-Watt University campus, hosted by the British Geological Survey Lyell Centre. The sessions included talks on carbon capture and storage and geothermal energy. Most excitingly the latest updates for the United Downs Deep Geothermal power project were presented by Peter Ledingham, who describes the successful drilling programme which achieved a production well depth of over 5000 m, creating the deepest onshore well in the United Kingdom. Our team are excitedly anticipating the results of the testing phase over the next few months, to understands the impact of this project on our clients projects and the wider UK geothermal sector.
