Our MD attended Offshore Europe at the new P&J Live exhibition centre in Aberdeen, Scotland. He was pleased by the number of presentations from hydrocarbon industry leaders about carbon capture and storage as well as hydrogen and their important role in the decarbonisation of global energy supply. Other talks by Wood involved visioning futures whereby climate targets had or had not been met, with the latter being realistically dystopian. Let’s hope the hydrocarbon industry now puts its money where its mouth is and invests in CCS (and why not geothermal too!) at the necessary scale required to avoid climate breakdown.
