What a successful morning! We just received a 6 month extension on our funding period, which will maximise Town Rock Energy’s development potential from the Young Innovators Challenge grant. We have also just placed an order for a Portable Electric Divided Bar (PEDB) from Hot Dry Rocks Ltd. of Australia. The PEDB measures thermal conductivity of rock samples and will be the first of it’s kind in Europe. The PEDB will be housed in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of St Andrews, and it’s use and data shall be shared with the Department under a Memorandum of Understanding. This is the first step towards creating the UK’s first geothermal research laboratory.
