TRE were contracted to carry out a feasibility study and develop a business case for SWG3, a 6000-person capacity arts and music venue. The popular venue plans to become carbon neutral by COP26 in 2021.

TRE carried out a feasibility study from October to November 2020 for the BODYHEAT project. The innovative design of the BODYHEAT project will integrate heating and cooling demands at SWG3 with ground-coupled heat pumps to capture and store waste heat produced by event goers, and draw it back out of the ground to heat the venue at different times.

From November to January, TRE created an investment grade business case and is now in the fundraising stage. With an aim to have the system running by COP26, the delivery schedule is fast – to be delivered by October 2021.
