TRE were contracted to carry out a feasibility study and develop a business case for SWG3, a 6000-person capacity arts and music venue. The popular venue plans to become carbon neutral by COP26 in 2021.
TRE carried out a feasibility study from October to November 2020 for the BODYHEAT project. The innovative design of the BODYHEAT project will integrate heating and cooling demands at SWG3 with ground-coupled heat pumps to capture and store waste heat produced by event goers, and draw it back out of the ground to heat the venue at different times.
From late 2020/early 2021, TRE created an investment grade business case and secured funding.
Officially launched at COP26 in November, the project is on course for delivery in March 2022. To keep up to date with BODYHEAT’s progress, view TRE’s news feed here.
