Scottish Council Pre-feasibility Study for Mine Water Geothermal Energy Hub

  • April 27, 2022

Date: March 2022 – ongoing
Location: Scotland
Client: Public sector client
Stage: Pre-Feasibility

Following the successful mine water geothermal screening programme, a promising area has been selected for a detailed pre-feasibility study. The study will look at the subsurface coal mine water resources, alongside the existing mine water resources at the surface. The scale of the developments will likely be a multi-megawatt system which can provide heating (and cooling) to local commercial or council end-users.
