Our MD gave a talk today at the 2018 All-Energy trade show, the biggest renewable energy conference in the UK calendar. The topic was a comparison of all of the various types of minewater geothermal system design. David asked the audience member from SEPA which system design made him the most nervous, and his response was “the one which has longest distance between the production and injection boreholes”. This may pose a challenge for the largest scale of minewater heat network, but solutions are available including partitioning the mine workings with multiple borehole doublets.
